Description

UV-A is a liquid UV absorber belonging to the hydroxyphenylbenzotriazole family. It exhibits a broad UV absorption, with high temperature and extraction resistance, making it particularly suitable for improving light stability of coatings with high durability demands, such as industrial coating and automotive coatings. For light sensitive substrates, such as wood and plastics, UV-A also provides efficient protection. The product is miscible with most common solvents. In waterborne system, it can be dispersed by dilution with a water miscible solvent such as butylcarbitol. When used together with a liquid hindered amine light stabilizer (HALS), such as HS-508 or HS-112, strong synergistic effects are observed.
